Hey People! Let’s rejoice for the gift of web3
The last few weeks have been very engaging and we want you to know about it. Before then if you missed our last update, read it here.
We will begin this weeks’ update by saying a very big thanks to the Kernel fellowship team and all the fellows who were resourceful to the speed and development we have experienced in the last few weeks. To be direct, big ups to Vivek, Andy and Sachin for the program setup, content, the community and the network. Much appreciation to our partner, friends and family at EPNS (Harsh & Richa) and Jo-Ann of Rare Birds for the support, advice and the chit-chat!
For us, Kernel fellowship is truly a blessing and a worthy experience!
Now that Kernel is over, we are taking the newsletter as one of the positives from Kernel and we will be releasing twice in a month to update the community about what we are working on and general updates from the cohort.
What we Achieved
Registration: We opened registration for the third cohort of the program which doubles as the first cohort since we migrate from 500NigeriaDevs4ETH to Web3Bridge. Good thing, since we opened registration 24th of August, we have had a good number of applications. Application is open on the website https://web3bridge.com/ and will be open till 16th of September.
Bounty: To round up the just concluded phase of the program, we paid out the bounty reward for the five (5) finalists and we started working on finishing up the frontend of the projects to prepare them for demo. We are excited about what the guys have built and cannot wait to show the world.
Workshop: As we are set out to give the participants of the new cohort an improved learning experience, we have been discussing with projects in the web3 ecosystem who are building layer-2 solutions, decentralized hosting services, oracles etc to host workshops during the cohort. These workshops are geared towards ensuring that participants of the cohort understand these solutions and can use them to scale their projects during the hackathons and final projects.
Interview: In order for us to ensure quality of the participants for the new cohort, we have been having a series of interviews to get to know the applicants, their development journey and why they are excited about web3.
Grant application/fund sourcing: We have applied for a number of grants and funding to ensure we raise enough funds needed to fund bounties, rewards and other incentives needed to ensure that participants of the cohort stay focused.
Mentor sourcing: In ensuring quality during the cohort, we are all out seeking for top mentors to facilitate the teaching and learning program. We are excited about the quality of mentors we have now and will be announcing them soon.
Program KPI: For proper review and evaluation of the cohort, we were able to design the cohort KPIs, this will believe will guide the program effectively.
Cohort open: Web3Bridge third cohort started on 14th September with successful participants’ onboarding, we will move on with the 2 weeks pre-content phase.
Our to-dos
Land registry test: One of graduates from the second cohort, developed a land registry project, the project was designed to redesign land registration, ownership, taxation and transfer for one of the countries in Africa. Our team together with the project owner have been working behind the scene to scale the project and we will be moving the project to testnet in the coming weeks.
Partnership: We will be working towards securing some strategic partnership that will be of great benefit to the program and the participants of the cohort
Within the coming weeks, we are confident of the results we will be achieving owing to the community support and our desire and passion to commit the best to Web3Bridge. And despite that Kernel is over, the experience and network at Kernel will remain with us, subscribe and stay tuned for our next update.
